dans le cadre d'une conférence organisée par le lycée Henri Martin autour de l'histoire du blues, le Krakenpub a le plaisir d'accueillir deux piliers du blues Rock pour une soirée de trés haute volée
aIt all began in April 1987 with 2 brothers, Thierry also known as Babac’h and Manu Aeschbach,
who both were fascinated by the 70’s rock music such as Lynyrd Skynyrd or ZZtop. The first one had just ended a primary experience as the lead singer of the band “The Silver Old axe Band”, while the second one was wearing out his first guitar neck.
They decided to put up a band together which would very quickly be called Natchez, in honor of the Indian tribe from Mississippi decimated by the French troops around 1730. The 7 band members spend the 1st year writing and putting together about ten original songs along with covers from the seventies ( MollyHatchet, 38 Specials, Brian Adams….), the 2nd year gets a view of their earliest local gigs among which already a couple of festivals. Right from the start Natchez dissociates from the other local bands sounding a lot more roots and joyful. For different reasons though the band breaks up in 1989, but the two brothers won’t leave it at that. The new version’s now made up of only 5 members and doing more and more gigs. In 1991 the first rough draft is recorded in Paris at the Studio Luna Rossa.
In 1992, a new bassist joins the band and is still a current member today, that is André Dufour known as D.D., he’s played in bands such as “Fahrenheit” and the “Indiens Psychedellic”.
The band‘s now composed of 4 members and seems to be on the right track. The following 2 years are filled with 80 gigs, a year, and the band finally records his 1st and auto-produced album “Natchez”, they do it again in 1997 with the album “Infernal” and even get the chance to record a real live record !!!!
In 1998, Benjamin Proy joins the band, he’s now in charge of hitting the drums.
Becoming more and more notorious the band is spotted and signed by the music label ”NSR”. This match gives birth to 2 new albums, “Brut” in 2001 and “Paradis avec toi” in 2003, both unanimously welcomed and appreciated by the specialized press.
In 2006, the ”Rock Band” goes back to his homeland to record their “Retour à la source” (Brennus Music/Socadisc)in P’n’F studio, this album definitely places Natchez as one of the leading Rock ’n’ Roll bands in France and bordering countries.
In 2007, Natchez opens up to new horizons by releasing his 1st all English record “Catch the spirit” (Brennus Music/Socadisc)
The bands 20th anniversary gives them the opportunity to put together a great gig which is filmed by the BTS Audiovisual School of St Quentin, and produced their 1st DVD “20 years later”. (Brennus music)
