The Old Mill of Vernon is located a
few kilometers from Giverny. A half-timbered monument, one of the latest of its kind, built in the XVI century. It is now one of the last bridges with a house in the world.
Claude Monet, worldwide famous painter, fascinated by gardening as well as by colors, he designed his flower and water garden as a work of art, which has been an inspiration for many of his paintings.
Giverny (his house) is full of memories, with its old living room - studio and his impressive collection of Japanese prints. The garden itself contains a water garden, full of oriental plants, weeping willows, water lilies and the Japanese bridge painted in green.
